__Chuck Braverman Co-Founder and Partner Chuck Braverman is one of the few successful dramatic film directors who also has extensive experience producing and directing documentary films. Chuck has been nominated four times by the Directors Guild of America and won the Best Feature Documentary award in 2001 for HIGH SCHOOL BOOT CAMP. In 2001, Chuck was nominated for an Academy Award® for his documentary CURTAIN CALL about the Actors Fund retirement home. Among his many episodic directing credits are NORTHERN EXPOSURE, MELROSE PLACE, BEVERLY HILLS 90210, SLEDGEHAMMER, ST. ELSEWHERE, CRAZY LIKE A FOX, AND LIFE GOES ON. Movies of the week included stars Mark Harmon, Kirstie Alley, Keanu Reeves and Kiefer Sutherland. During the mid 90's Chuck was Senior Vice President at Sony New Technologies supervising the development and production of Sony's new story driven dramatic 3-D Imax films. In the last few years Chuck has produced for Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, A&E, Discovery Times, HBO, TLC, Court TV and Discovery Health. He was recently the Executive Producer on the Discovery series WEED WARS.
__Richard Propper Co-founder and Partner Richard Propper is CEO of Solid Entertainment, an international distribution company specializing in non-fiction television programming. In addition, he is an Executive Producer for approximately 2-3 new non-fiction productions each year. In eighteen years, Solid Entertainment has become a significant source of award winning documentary programming within the international broadcast industry. Its focus has broadened to include all genres of documentaries. Solid Entertainment’s current catalog contains more than 350 non-fiction titles and has successfully licensed programming throughout the international broadcast marketplace. Titles represented by Solid Entertainment include: The 2007 Academy Award Nominated OPERATION HOMECOMING, PBS’s GATES OF THE ARCTIC, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC’S - MANMADE, and VELOCITY’S CHASING CLASSIC CARS, OVERHAULIN’ and RIDES. Richard has completed duties as President of the International Documentary Assocation (IDA) as well as nine years on its Board of Directors.
Karin M. Martenson As Director of Programming & Outreach for the WESTDOC Conference, Karin M. Martenson brings a wide range of experience in the areas of programming, public relations, marketing, live events and production. She was most recently the Manager of Public Programming at the Museum of Television & Radio (now the Paley Center for Media) where she created and produced seminars and special events for the museum, including the annual Paley Television Festival. Previously, Martenson worked at various Public Relation firms where she successfully oversaw the 2002 Academy Award campaign for Best Animated Short Film of 2002. Before moving to Los Angeles, she got her start in the Public Programs department of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston where she programmed music, film and speaker series for the museum as well as created arts education programs for local television and radio stations including WGBH/Boston. In addition, Karin has worked in a wide variety of television and film productions from documentaries to feature films.
