Bordered by Sony Studios on one end and the legendary Culver Studios on the other, downtown Culver City, known as “the Heart of Screenland,” provides the ideal open environment for WESTDOC 2012. The opening night film, panels, the keynote, PitchFest, and our vendor area will all be located at the beautiful Pacific Theaters Culver Stadium 12.
Literally steps away from the theater is the historic and remodeled Culver Hotel, which will serve as the social center point of WESTDOC. Its art deco-style lobby and bar provide a great place to meet up or dine during the event. The Town Plaza, the outside space between the hotel and the theater, will be converted into the WESTDOCdelegate lounge, allowing both delegates and speakers to take advantage of the beautiful fall weather.
Although most of the WESTDOC action will be concentrated in the hotel and the theater, be sure to take a look at Culver City’s surrounding downtown area. Hungry for pancakes first thing in the morning? Try the S&W Country Diner. Feeling like a lunchtime salad? Visit noted eatery Tender Greens. Need a drink after a long day of networking? Swing by Ford’s Filling Station. These are only the tip of the culinary iceberg: the city has a charming collection of outdoor cafes and acclaimed restaurants opening onto the tree-lined boulevards.
Downtown Culver City is a perfect combination of small-town charm and urban living -- truly Los Angeles' best kept secret.
Parking Parking is easy in Culver City. In addition to metered street parking, three parking structures are available to WESTDOC delegates and speakers:
