Got an idea?  Ready to pitch?  Get to work!

Day 3 of WESTDOC is dedicated to PitchFest, a rousing live presentation by documentary and reality producers pitching new concepts to network and development executives. The best pitch of the event is decided by the audience. The winner is awarded the WESTDOC Pitcher Award 2012 plus a cash prize sponsored by Merrill Lynch.  Look into our previous PitchFest winners FIRST POSITION and INDIE GAME: THE MOVIE to see how far you can go with this great event.  Impress the crowd and you’ll go home a winner!

Only registered WESTDOC attendees can submit to PitchFest for a non-refundable submission fee of $50.00.  A limited number of applicants will be selected.

(PitchFest spectator admission is included with your WESTDOC Conference pass.)

Your pitch must include a video presentation of at least two minutes and a verbal presentation of at least three minutes. (Total pitch not to exceed seven minutes.) These should be new works-in-progress available for acquisition, licensing or funding. Your project can be either a stand-alone program or a series; Documentary or Reality.

In order for your project to be considered, you will be required to submit the following:

   •     A password-protected YouTube or Vimeo link (preferred), or two DVDs          of  your work-in-progress.

    •    A written treatment (500 words or less) outlining your project, the              current status of the project, any existing broadcast partners, etc.

    •    A 1-2 page budget and estimate of completion funding desired.

    •    Five still JPEG images which represent the essence of the pitch.

    •    A résumé and/or credit list of your previous work.

Please send materials to the WESTDOC CONFERENCE PitchFest, 3961 Sepulveda Blvd. #206, Culver City, CA. 90230 (or email video links and attachments to pitchfest@thewestdoc.com), arriving no later than August 15th, 2012. None of these materials will be returned. You will be notified no later than August 31st if you are accepted. All applicants accepted to participate in PitchFest will be given a free WESTDOC CONFERENCE pass to the 2013 conference. If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to pitchfest@thewestdoc.com.
